Where does our Omega-3 come from?
Our best Omega-3 comes from fresh water, sparkling clean facilities, and state-of-the-art production techniques. This is how we turn fish into health!
We know our fish: PharmaOmega omega-3 fish oil comes from sardines and anchovies caught during the peak of their season These fish are plentiful in supply, not endangered, and perhaps most important, not critical to the aquatic food chain.
We know the source: Our principal supplier can certify when and where the fish is caught. The approved fishery and facility operates only 4 weeks per year in two 2-week seasons – the only period when the ships are allowed to catch sardines and anchovies. The entire batch is processed within 48 hours of the catch. The processing plant is built specifically for fish oil production, and it is thoroughly sanitized and fully automated with a computerized control center.
Our standards are unbeatable: PharmaOmega fish oil is produced according to the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) standards – as is everything in the plant. The fish oil goes through a rigorous, natural purification process. The oil is chilled to remove saturated fats, and then several filtering steps are implemented. Oxidized particles and other contaminants are removed by chromatography. The oil is concentrated through microdistillation. Approximately 60% of our output of oil is converted into biodiesel fuel because there is an unavoidable portion of inferior fish oil that does not meet our quality specifications. Only the top 40% of the oil collected is even used as the raw material for making our fish oil.
Time and temperature matter: High-grade fish oil cannot be heated above 180 degrees C because trans fats and impurities begin to form and the omega-3 fats can be altered. High-grade fish oil should not be exposed to heat for more than a few seconds. To maintain exceptional product integrity, we use a very low pressure vacuum and temperatures below 100 degrees for less than one second.
Our product is highly concentrated and incomparable to other fish oil: Our fish oil is refined to a 90% concentration of omega-3s, making our oil the most potent source of these healthy, essential fats required for human health. Finally, natural antioxidants are added. Our fish oil is held in an oxygen-free environment during the entire process. Our fish oil is then packaged and sealed immediately, ensuring its freshness and potency. Our product is guaranteed to be top-quality, delivering all the benefits of omega-3 in an effective, convenient capsule!
